MUTO’s music is grounded in electronic and alternative music, while creating a synthesis with the traditional Korean instrument geomungo. This approach stems from an exploration of originality and contemporaneity, both key elements of modern performing arts.
With their first album Vast Plains released in 2022, MUTO established the foundation of their sonic direction. Their second album Two Eyes, released in 2025, further expands this vision through a collaboration with “Mouth and Hand Studio,” based on Simcheongga, one of the five traditional pansori repertoires—revealing the growing scope and potential of their sound.
Building on a fusion of Eastern and Western musical elements, MUTO seeks to create new forms of performance art by expanding their expression through media art and lighting design.
