Sijin

SIJIN is a DJ, producer, and curator based in Seoul who’s pushing the boundaries of underground electronic music. He’s also behind SYNTHASIA, a platform focused on the evolving cultural landscapes of electronic music across Asia. His work extends beyond traditional club settings into open-air projects rooted in nature and a strong sense of place.

His sound is all about intricate rhythms, raw textures, and immersive atmospheres. He moves fluidly between hypnotic grooves and fractured beats, creating unpredictable soundscapes that take listeners on a visceral journey.What makes his music distinctive is how he layers complex percussion with deep, driving elements. In June 2025, SIJIN independently released his EP DOMAIN, which premiered via Minimal Collective. Later that December, he released the album Khövsgöl, drawing from field recordings and personal experiences during his travels in Mongolia. Introduced through Delayed and area127, the album expands his sonic palette toward more organic, spatial, and textural sound design.

He’s performed at some incredible venues across Asia and beyond, including KHIDI in Tbilisi, Georgia, and KGR’n TOKYO and WWWβ Shibuya in Tokyo, marking a growing presence within the international scene. Beyond his music, SIJIN has consistently developed concept-driven curatorial projects. Through VOLNOST, he has introduced experimental audiovisual artists such as 404.zero, Maotik, and TUNDRA, creating immersive environments where sound and visuals converge. His ongoing project GREI explores the relationship between sound and space through collaborations with artists both locally and internationally. His curatorial approach goes beyond event-making, focusing instead on experiences where sound, space, and sensation are organically intertwined.
