been shaped by years of hands-on experience across a wide range of sonic
practices, including his own artistic projects, music for films and installations,
production work for artists across various genres, and the design and on-site
setup of multi-channel sound systems.
Since returning to Japan in 2020, Shimizu has focused on developing his solo
works and live performances, while also designing sound for director Apichatpong
Weerasethakul’s performance pieces such as Fever Room and A Conversation
with the Sun (VR), presented internationally.
His work delves into the relationship between layered resonance, sound as a form
of physical energy, and the imagery or memories they evoke. He continues to
explore how sound engages human perception and consciousness.
